We obviously do not have any clear definition of "Friend/Family" applicants and have any criteria regarding them. Some are in game and some are "IRL" friends and family. After recent influx of friend and family applications we have had some discussion about this. While we all have in game friends and buddies we obviously can't invite them all into the guild.

To make this black and white we are only going to be "insta"-inviting "IRL" friends and family. They will still need to use the standard application process but note its a "IRL Friend/Family" application.

All others must apply as raiders/members of the guild and be evaluated based on the needs of the guild.

Family and friend persons may eventually become raiders but they will need to "re-apply" as raiders using the standard application form.

I'm sure there are many of you who will dislike this decision but since we are a progression and raiding guild first we feel this is the easiest way to be fair. This won't be a retro-active change but any current "Friends/Family" status persons wanting to raid will need to re-app as a raider and go through the process.

If any current raiders have incorrect status please let me know. If you have comments, concerns, and gripes please feel free to contact me. Shoot me in game whispers, in game mail, PM, or hell even email me at work "ajvitan@berkeley.edu" Try not to bother Moldy if you can help it as he is dealing with other stuff.

Important question: If I marry someone I meet online, does that count as IRL friend/family? What if it's only legal in certain states? So much to consider....

Article IV

Section 1. Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state. And the Congress may by general laws prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof.

If its legal in one state, it should be respected by all other states.

Mexico doesn't count as a state. And also since when can a donkey play WoW anyway?

The Keeper is aware. The Keeper understands.
The Keeper has seen the enemy. The Keeper will attack the enemy.

As far as regular applications go... maybe we should ask something like "How frequently will you miss Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday raid times?"

If someone is applying as a raider that question should not have to be asked. If you want to raid, and apply to raid, you should be able to make 90% of the raids. Even if there's not room for an invite, you should be able to be on ready to raid for 90%+ of the nights. Anything less than that in the long run is just a hindrance to the rest of the raid group.
