Thanks for the link. The crafted leather boots [Footpads of Silence] are best in slot for rogues.
This'll be odd coming from an officer, but what's our policy for Runed Orbs?

That IS an odd question especially from an officer.
I would expect one of the standard rules to apply... That is GM bogarts what he wants, officers next... and lowly peons get any scraps left over.
Or we could go with - Maximum of six to each HIGH ATTENDENCE raider - and only if they are used to craft a WORN pair of BiS gear. If you get orbs, you give up your right to roll on ANY other boots or w/e is crafted from them.
Of course, I think we have... about a dozen of these? So, the next considerations would probably have to do with who gets em first (there are plenty more coming) I think this would have to do something with people who are willing/able to get the rest of the mats prepared out of their own pocket.
Finally, we could do it Alphabetically.... starting at J.
But in seriousness, some official Moldy/Officerconference confirmation of the policy does sound like a good idea.

Yes, obviously, people who farm or buy the other mats themselves will get priority. You can also buy Runed Orbs with Conquest Badges, at the fairly hefty ratio of 18/Orb.

We have 5. And yes its being discussed. But at the moment orbs are the least thing any raider should be concerned about. Mimi, General and Yogg should be the immediate focus.

I'm positive we should have more than 5. Moldrid must have some on Damagebank.

/disagree. Im not sure if you missed the point there, or are really disagreeing with what should be a no brainer... Im saying... dont take guild orbs to craft something unless its best in slot. If its best in slot, you wont be needing to roll on any other peices for that slot. And Ridah, we MUST have more than 5. I heard Moldrid was planning on crafting something... maybe he already removed some?

5 are available. Others were set aside for the tanking boots from the pattern. I would expect one of the standard rules to apply... That is GM bogarts what he wants, officers next... and lowly peons get any scraps left over. I'm sure you are being sarcastic here.

I don't know that crafting yourself something expensive should necessarily exclude you from ever getting something better. For instance, the crafted boots are nice, but the BEST boots for most casters are ilvl 239 from a hard mode kill of Flame Levithan. We may or may not ever kill Flame Leviathan on hard mode... and if people are afraid to make crafted gear that increases their dps, healing or tankability... because they won't get a shot at those best in slot items, we're shooting ourselves in the leg.
catch-22: If people won't upgrade because they're holding out for something everyone else is holding out for too... then we won't improve and won't kill anything really difficult and won't get any of the shit they're holding out for in the first place.

Ill give you that, I didnt think of that situation. The point was, as I said, to make sure they are very very good before taking the orbs. That is all. sheeesh.

I think Jbean's point in all his rampant rambling is that everyone should take care when looking at what gear to get crafted given the relative rarity of the runed orbs we currently have. For instance, I don't think I should pick up any of that gear given that it all has mp5 on it and would really only be best for my healing set.
However, if anyone wants one of the crafted things and sees a pattern on the AH I would consider picking it up to help the guild craft it. (considering our shitty luck on pattern drops) I'm not sure there is any leather pattern that more than one or two people want thought, so I'm not entirely sure it would be worth it.

This'll be odd coming from an officer, but what's our policy for Runed Orbs? Same with lolcat. Hopefully as more people pick up their T8.5 Chest/Helm and the odd neck/belt that is actually useful from emblems we will have more of these to throw around. Until then, I agree that we should try to prioritize based on need and contribution.

Policy:
Submit requests for Orbs to me (Moldrekh) I have many requests already. We will award orbs based on the same factors we award loot. Attendance, Performance and Attitude. Any one of those things being poor hurts your chances. I use a spreadsheet (developed by JBean) to track attendance/loot ratio and well performance is based on judgement. (And not soley mine)
Attitude will also be heavily factored in.. If your the best pala in the world (aka Athene) but a total douchebag to your peers I'll likely pass to someone with a better attitude other things being equal.
Consistency is what I'm looking for...!!! And no consistently being a douchebag doesn't count. :-)
Back to the orbs... When awarded you will be given 4. This mean you need to come up with the other 2 on your own. This allows more people to get crafted items and people to have to raid to obtain them.
(I will consdider loaning forward on a case-by-case basis)
